Pop The Champagne And It's A New Beginning

I happen to stumble upon some quotes and felt like taking some of them and putting them in my New Year's Resolution List. (Basically, the ones which sound wise are the quotations.) So here goes!

The List:
  1. Let go of the parts of life you honestly don't want.
  2. Stop losing things, it costs!
  3. Discover the person you are before you become the person you need and want to be.
  4. Know the difference between the person you want to be and the person that you need to be.
  5. Learn to walk away.
  6. Survive for the next 365 days WITH dignity.
  7. Exercise. (It's always on my list.)
  8. Buck up on your French.
  9. Get smart.
C'est dificile! Je pense que je peux! ? J'espére.

Yeah, that's about it. I have 9 things on my list but I highly doubt I can even accomplish one of them. Number 7 and 8 are possible if I'm really determined. Heck, should've made a simpler one like be more fashionable, put on makeups, get long wavy curls, study hard and get my driving license. Getting material things are a million times easier than this list.

I need God's guidance and His wisdom.

Random: One fine day, I'll have a countdown filled with noise and fun-ness. While waiting for the countdown, I'll sip on champagne, and when people finally yell "HAPPY NEW YEAR"! Hopefully I have a partner to snog. Tee-hee!

Yes, I'm still that dreamy little girl.

Have you made your New Year's Resolution list yet? I know not everyone makes a resolution list.

Escape To Malacca

Yes people, I successfully had a one day road trip to Malacca! Gosh, the feeling of going back to a place where your ancestors lived in was very nostalgic. It's like you know you're walking on the same ground they've walked on. I'm just contented to be able to go back to my roots, and get to know my roots a little more.

Romantic right?
Would be if you can stand that fishy smell of the river...
It kind of reminds me of rivers in Europe,
especially Venice.

On the way to that historic place, we stopped by one particular restaurant and ordered my favourite chicken... salted baked chicken with herbs. Actually, I don't know the English name for it. The Cantonese name is called 'Yim Kok Kai' or is it 'Yim Gok Gai'? I really don't know. I don't have a picture of it neither, was too busy eating that juicy chicken. This chicken was very different for other salted chicken okay, they have eggs in it, it's like stuffed chicken instead of just plain old salted chicken. I'm still craving for it now.

Nowadays the trishaw rides very modern!
They no longer play those olden days songs like
P. Ramlee. They went techno!
And it's ear-blasting loud, like you're in a club.

The journey from KL to Malacca is actually quite short. At the most you might take maybe 4 hours, that includes tyre changing! I suppose... When we reached the ourskirts of Malacca, we paid a visit to Mini Malaysia.

All girls. Mom's not in it though.
And I admit, I really look like a nerd.

Owh, this is my favourite part! We walked along Jonker Street! I managed to buy some leather bracelets and earrings too! Also did get a long top for my leggings, am kinda into the rocker style! I also got myself a very cute crabby bookmark! I know la, I already got lots of bookmarks, but I have lots of books too!

I'm in need of a tan.

Guess who I met in Malacca Jonker Street... Mr. Lim and his family!!! He's my Chemistry tuition teacher, so nice to be able to meet him.

For dinner, dad was actually driving around Jalan Melaka Raya searching for good Nyonya restaurants. I really wanted to taste an authentic Nyonya Baba meal. So yeah, we took quite some time to search for a good restaurant which was recommended in the newspaper some time ago.

The chicken was oh so delicious!
It's served in Restaurant Ole Sayang.

Later on, dad wanted to show me the place where he grew up. He was really excited when he showed me his village and the small house he lived in. I can actually fathom the nostalgic feeling in his eyes. He was happy to be able to see his childhood place. Did I mention there were lots of stars hanging in the calm night sky? I tell you, it was the most beautiful piece of sky I've seen so far. Too bad my camere wasn't sophisticated enough to capture them, all I got were blurry white dots.

The little house dad used to live in.
My aunt said they chopped off all the trees.

We also went in to the Portuguese settlement to see all the Christmas decorations. My cousin was really impressed. She kept on repeating " I really admire their Christmas spirit."

So detailed. Can you see Santa in the chimney?

The other photos are in facebook!

If you have the opportunity, do visit Malacca.

Lovely Gathering

The Snowman.
Soon to be a headless pot.

The Christmas party was tolerably nice. Managed to meet up with some of the youths from LIFE camp. Some became braver, friendlier, one even grew skinnier, according to my friend. Kinda miss them. Thanks to Joanna for inviting me!

By the way, I won best dressed! HAHA. Wasn't really expecting that, seeing that I felt I dressed like a 'lala'. But anyhow, I got a prize. As usual, I clumsily dropped it and it broke. Now, my snowman doesn't have a head... So sorry to the youths who spent money buying it! I was also supposedly getting another prize because Moi managed to pin the red nose exactly on the reindeer, but did not seeing that I already broke one. I rejected it because I felt guilty. I'm gonna give the snowman to maman(mom) and let her plant one of her many money plants in it.

You see, I reuse!

It's Christmas Eve tomorrow! Another day out with friends and attending yet another small party. Currently enjoying life. Relax people, boredom will strike me soon enough!

Random: Brittany Murphy passed away. I'm a little sad about it, I love all the chick flicks she starred in. They were somewhat inspirational. To those girls and guys who hates chick flicks, I don't give a damn what you think about me for I know, my mind isn't as empty as a flower pot!

*Cheers*
(Sorry, can't find any pictures of me of the party in Facebook during this time.)

Attention People

People of the universe, I just want to tell each and everyone of you, I freaking PASS my UNDANG! Okay, I know it isn't something that grand to brag about. It's not like I've just received my PhD or something, but still, I'm pretty glad that I don't have to retake that bloody exam. Pronto.

Imagine waiting at the center for dreadfully long hours! Thank goodness I had friends to talk to and it somehow made time passed a little faster than I expected it would. Enough said, I passed and I'm happy.

I'm currently rotting at home. At the most, I paint my nails and maybe do a little manicure, simply drawing on flowers or just meaningless patterns. Maybe I should reread The Great Gatsby. I really like that book. It's one of my favourites. The author seemed to have life pretty easy and nice. You know, attending endless parties sipping on glasses of bubbly. And hence, he lived quite a short life. Died young. Sometimes I think it's not too bad to die young, at least you wouldn't be facing all sorts of sickness, you don't need to suffer the throes of death.

Hopefully I'd get a taste of them this Christmas!

Owh yeah, I'm planning to paint my nails golden-ish brown and then draw on Mickey Mouse's head on them. (It's just three black dots, I'm no pro to go painting the face!) It would be like all Christmas-sy. Mickey's head somehow reminds me about Disneyland and you know, it's so magical and just fun! Am trying to get into the Christmas mood, I think I'm halfway there.

Okay la, maybe I'm into it already. Will be going to a party tomorrow, my friend told me to dress as crazy as possible. She called me to dress like a Christmas tree. I'm contemplating whether or not to wear my leotard, it's oh so sparkly and it has all the colours wanted in it, red, green and black! After all, I couldn't possibly wear my leotard anymore, why waste 300++ just for one competition? Wear it to some themed party better, aren't I right?(Cheapskate, cheapskate.)

Should I? I really don't know what to wear.

I know I sounded like a bimbo at some parts. Deal with it!

Merry Christmas people. Have a blessed Christmas with your family.

PS, don't just think of Santa, presents and the huge turkey, REMEMBER to remember Jesus. He is the reason we celebrate Christmas. D'accord?

Bad And Sad Relationship

I eat dinner
At the kitchen table
By the light
Of the TV screen
I eat leftovers with mashed potatoes
No more candlelight
No more romance
No more small talk
When the plate is clean
When hunger's gone.

Rufus Wainwright ft. Dido - I Eat Dinner

I pity lovers who live like this...
And 'love' like this.
